My Favorite Thing about Cypress Run:
The friends and hunting companions I
have there. We have a group that enjoys hunting and being
together whether we’re knocking down ducks or just enjoying a
beautiful sunrise or breakfast together. Out of our group, I’ve
hunted this area the longest and I can honestly say there is no
place better to hunt ducks in the state of Arkansas or the
United States.
Why I Love Duck Hunting: The
companionship and friendships that I’ve made over the years.
I’ve gone on hunts with friends knowing that I would kill as
many ducks that I woul dhav at my own place, but I enjoy the
experience of being with my friends during that time.
My First Duck Hunt: My first
hunt was in St. Francis County somewhere around Palestin, AR,
with a very old local friend from Forrest City in 1980 hunting
geese. Later that year, we hunted ducks just outside Wheatley on
Pop Powell’s farm.
My Favorite Duck Hunting Memory:
With my son, Scott, on Thanksgiving Day with Mallory Nimocks
and his sone about 1993-4. We were hunting in green timber and
walking in in our waders. We started killing ducks the second we
hit the water in our waters. By the time we’d made it to the
hole, we already had our limit. I remember Scott saying “Dad,
this isn’t fair! These ducks don’t have a chance.”
My Favorite Meal During Duck Season:
Will Huffman’s Jalapeno-and-Cream
Cheese Stuffed Duck Breasts Wrapped in Bacon
