My Favorite Thing about Cypress Run: The members. We all enjoy each other’s company, and we all like to have a good time and kill ducks. Having a fabulous lodge doesn’t hunt either.

Why I Love Duck Hunting: Most of all, I enjoy hunting with my son. I like inviting friends to hunt and enjoying everything we have to offer — the blinds, the food, the sunrises, even the weather most of the time. To watch the ducks make a swing and a drop below the trees on a blue-bird day is something you’ll never forget.

My First Duck Hunt: I don’t remember the year, but it was with my brother-in-law, Mike, in Lee County.

My Favorite Duck Hunting Memory: When I first started duck hunting, I was hunting with my friend Sonny in a rice field in Lee County. I stepped in a rut where a combine must’ve gotten stuck, and down I went. I didn’t float my hat, but I got wet and cold, and I didn’t think I’d make it back to the truck. I enjoy hunting in a warm duck blink now. Life is good.

My Favorite Meal During Duck Season: Anything Will Huffman cooks.
